What’s (Stand-Up Style)?

Stand-Up [stand-uhp]: delivering a comic monologue while alone on the stage.

Style [stahyl]: attitudes that individuals within a culture express through their choice of cultural forms…it determines the manner in which they perform.

(Stand-Up Style) [stand-uhp] [stahyl]: Is a monthly live comedy show produced by Kortney Shane Williams. This is not the normal comedy show that is full of hack comics. This show features some of the best national touring headliners. It’s guaranteed to be a great night of comedy, and not one that turns your one night out, into a 3 hour marathon of unfunny; which ends up being more depressing than entertaining. Leaving you thinking, “I should have stayed home and watched Seinfeld reruns.”

For the first time in about 5 years Kortney Shane Williams, who (hereinafter referred to as “I/me” That’s right I’m getting legal. “I’m surgical with this thing Jake!” Lonso style) is producing a New Year’s Show in Seattle. See most of the time I’m not in Seattle for New Year’s, because I don’t feel like being sobered up by bone chilling wind. Also my sister lives in Miami and I’d much rather hangout there.

However I will be in Seattle this year, and it’s only right that I produce a show. For the first time I will be doing a show at the Easy Monkey Taphouse Saturday, January 3rd at 8 PM.

Kortney Shane Williams has been a part of The Bridgetown Comedy Festival, Boston Comedy Festival, Laughing SkullKortney Williams at The Knitting Factory in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. 10/23/2011 Comedy Festival, and Bumbershoot Arts festival. He’s been a finalist in both Comedy Central’s South Beach Comedy Festival Competition and NBC’s Stand-Up Showcase. He has opened for Hannibal Burress, Mike Wilmot, Darryl Lenox, David Alan Grier, and Dave Chappelle. He has appeared on CBS, Comedy Time at the Icehouse, and The 206 on NBC. His writing he has been featured on Yahoo while his comedy sports blog Comedic Prose is regularly highlighted on FoxSport.com.

This month (Stand-Up style) will feature Duane Goad.

DuaneGoadDuane has been the opening act for such comedians as Jim Gaffigan, Bill Burr, Flight Of The Conchords and Lewis Black and was the opening act for music superstars The Jacksons on their ‘Unity Tour’. Duane has also appeared at numerous festivals including Funny or Die’s Oddball Comedy Festival, The Bumbershoot Arts Festival and The Vancouver Comedy Festival.

As an actor, Duane has been seen and heard in numerous commercials including The FX Network, Gillette Razors, Ford and Microsoft. He co-starred in the independent comedy ‘Hello. My Name is Dick Licker’ and the short film ’80s Ending’ seen on the Comedy Central series ‘Atom Films Presents…’ Duane has also been featured on the wildly popular Seattle-based sketch comedy show ‘The 206′.
