Kortney’s Last Show, EP 28: NBA Season Preview

The 68th NBA Season starts tonight. All the offseason moves are over, and now it’s time to speculate on what will happen on the court. In this episode of the last show podcast I spend a lot of time talking about the Los Angeles Lakers and the “nobody wants to play with Kobe Bryant” report.…

Steve Ballmer and Donald Sterling talked about…

So the former racist owner of the Los Angeles Clippers (Donald Sterling), and the maybe/kinda sorta/soon to be owner of the Clippers (Steve Ballmer) had a “friendly conversation.” What the hell could they have possibly talked about friendly? One guy is trying to take the other guys stuff. And the guy who’s getting his stuff…

Kortney’s Last Show, EP 19: LeBron James returns to Cleveland rant

Dan Le Batard of the Miami Herald and The Dan Le Batard Show with Stugotz. Does Miami centric rants whenever something great happens for Miami sports. With LeBron James returning to the Cleveland Cavaliers. I though it was only right that I do a rant for the city of Cleveland. Especially since the Cleveland rants that…

Kortney’s Last Show, EP 18: LeBron Back to Cleveland, a More Interesting Eastern Conference

LeBron James is back in Cleveland. So the whole LeBron watch is over. I glad it’s come to an end, but at the same time the Twitter experience was great. I’ll miss searching Twitter for clues. Trying to figure out if Dan Gilbert was on a plane or what the color pallet was going to…

Did Pat Riley go preemptive comic sans slave owner rant on LeBron James?

In the interest of full disclosure, I’m a Cavaliers fan. So I may have some blind spots when it comes to my team. For instance, I think Dion Waiters is a good player, and Anthony Bennett will eventually make an all-star team. In addition, I’ve never seen a problem with the infamous letter Dan Gilbert…

The Cleveland Cavaliers higher David Blatt . . . This is going to be good!

So the Cleveland Cavaliers have hired David Blatt to be their head coach. Who the hell is David Blatt?! I know David Thompson. I know Kyla Pratt. But I don’t know David Blatt. As a matter of fact I don’t anyone with the last name, Blatt. Which was probably clear when I injected Kyla Pratt…

The 2014 L.A. Lakers new chant, “Moneyball, Moneyball, Moneyball”

There’s one word we can’t stop hearing about.  Whether it’s Brad “Billy Bean” Pitt with that guy from “Superbad” on the big screen, or the real-life roster of The St. Louis Cardinals. Moneyball. Everyone’s trying to buy statistics, not stars.  And as a long-time L.A. Lakers fan, I’m excited, that my team is forced to…

The 2014 L.A. Lakers new chant, “Moneyball, Moneyball, Moneyball”

lakers

There’s one word we can’t stop hearing about.  Whether it’s Brad “Billy Bean” Pitt with that guy from “Superbad” on the big screen, or the real-life roster of The St. Louis Cardinals. Moneyball. Everyone’s trying to buy statistics, not stars.  And as a long-time L.A. Lakers fan, I’m excited, that my team is forced to buy into the same philosophy.
Last night, as I was already reeling from watching the Miami Heat look just as dominant as they did in the last six minutes of Game 6 of The 2013 NBA Finals. I decided (against my better judgment) to watch the late game, where my Lakers would take on The L.A. Clippers.  I was already prepared for the inevitable beat-down.  I was already braced for a Rondo-infused CP3 throwing alley-oops to a much improved Deandre Jordan, and a greatly marketed Blake Griffin.  I was ready to watch Nate Collison run defensive circles around Steve Nash as he did in last year’s opener for the Dallas Mavericks.  I was prepared to see a Laker team, so desperate, so devoid of talent, that Kobe would literally inject himself with HGH while sitting behind the bench, tear off his suit, and hobble on the court like Willis Reed, play 48 minutes and overtime, and then sprain an MCL .… Read More

Daniel Gibson apologizes to Cleveland Cavalier fans…why?

So Daniel Gibson, formally of the Cleveland Cavaliers posted that picture on instagram. It pretty much self explanatory what he tried to do. Obviously he felt like the Cavalier fans deserved more than they got from him while he was in Cleveland. However, if you’re a Cleveland fan you have to ask yourself, “Why is he…
