Cleveland Cavaliers fired Chris Grant, Mike Brown on deck
The Cleveland Cavaliers have finally put Chris Grant of his misery. They fired him the day after the Cavaliers lost to a team of 8 players, which ended up being 4 players by the end of the game. This means that Mike Brown will be the next to go. That’s right Dan Gilbert is clearing this thing out (Casino style).
Assuming that the Cavaliers bring in a new G.M., and Dan Gilbert doesn’t go Jerry Jones. He will want to bring in his own coach. That means Mike Brown is gone. Unless the Cavaliers find some weird way to make the playoffs. If that were to happen it’s possible Mike Brown could be kept for at least part of next season.
In addition every player that was brought in via the NBA Draft Lottery by Chris Grant is on notice. That means Dion Waiters, Anthony Bennett, and Tristian Thompson should rent not buy (thanks Jalen Rose)1.
This is the perfect time to make this kind for the Cavaliers. It’s still early enough to trade unwanted players by the trade deadline, make the playoff, and persuade Loul Deng to resign. Let’s see if Dan Gilbert can make it happen.
- I wanted to include Kyrie Irving in this list, but let’s be honest. Dude isn’t going anywhere.
