Thanks to everyone who stayed till 8:30, Brian Moote was great, and (Stand-Up Style) is every first Sunday

kortneysf49b

Thanks to everyone that stayed for (Stand-Up Style) Comedy Showcase this past Sunday. I know the show was delayed by 2 hours, and I wouldn’t have been surprised if everyone went home. However, most everybody stuck it out, and got a treat in Brian Moote.

Brian was fantastic. I heard nothing, but great things from everyone who attended. No one even brought up the fact that the show started late. So big thanks to Brian for coming through, and making me look good.

Also Billy Anderson and Jamal Harrington were great. I had people that have been to several shows, who told me it was the best lineup of comedians they had seen. That was in large part because of Billy and Jamal. They made the lineup strong throughout the show.

At the end of the show Sunday, I announced that I had been asked by Naked City to produce a monthly comedy show.… Read More

(Stand-Up Style) Comedy Show, less than two weeks away. Perfect time to talk, Breastfeeding on the Bus

Why is Breastfeeding on the bus a part of the title? Well it makes strangers click on the link, and it’s a manifesto for my show (Stand-Up Style).

Sunday April 5th 7 PM at Naked City Brewery in Greenwood

(Stand-Up Style) is a comedy showcase that features international touring Stand-Up comedians, and some up-and-coming local openers.

It is not and open mic or amateur night.
It’s a professional showcase, that’s guaranteed to be a great night of comedy, and not one that turns your one night out, into a 3 hour marathon of unfunny; which ends up being more depressing than entertaining. Leaving you thinking, “I should have stayed home and watched Seinfeld reruns.”

Tickets are available now on Brown Paper Tickets

Kortney’s Last Show, EP 34: Opening for Dave Chappelle & Hannibal Buress

Hannibal

So there was nothing to talk about on the podcast, so I decided to talk about myself.

The only alternative was to talk about Bill Cosby, and I’ve had enough of that. No one is moving the story forward, yet it’s not dying. This Bill Cosby story reminds me of Lady Gaga’s music career. Enough with both of them.

So I decided to talk about the last few month of my career. With special attention paid to opening for Dave Chappelle and Hannibal Buress. A lot of people have asked me a lot of questions about the experiences. So I thought I would do a podcast about it.

Enjoy the podcast and please subscribe on iTunes.

What’s (Stand-Up Style)?

Stand-Up [stand-uhp]: delivering a comic monologue while alone on the stage.

Style [stahyl]: attitudes that individuals within a culture express through their choice of cultural forms…it determines the manner in which they perform.

Opening for Dave Chappelle in Seattle 2014 – Kortney Shane Williams

I’ve had the opportunity to open for Dave Chappelle this week while he’s been in Seattle performing at the Neptune Theater, and it’s been great. The sets and audiences have been great. I couldn’t really ask for more. Well, actually, I could ask all those people who like my act to come out to some…
