Kortney’s Last Show, EP 48: Kendrick Lamar & J. Cole Album Revies

Kendrick&J.Cole

Welcome back to The Last Show Podcast.

On this episode I talk about Kendrick Lamar’s new album, To Pimp A Butterfly. I call it an album review, but I’m not even sure it’s a review. Heck, I’m not even sure it’s a hip-hop album. It is a great work of art that confuses me. I don’t know what Kendrick is talking about. However, I spend time talking about it, and breaking it down.

I also talk about rediscovering the J. Cole, 2014 Forrest Hill Drive album. I heard it when it came out, and I wasn’t that impressed. It was probably because I soured on J. Cole after the Born Sinner album. I wasn’t a fan of that album. I thought it was too clunky. So when 2014 Forrest Hill Drive can out, I probably didn’t give it a fair shake. So I glad I got the opportunity to rediscover the album, while was traveling. It was also an interesting juxtaposition to Kendrick’s To Pimp A Butterfly.

I open the show talking about the Villanova Piccolo Girl. You don’t want to miss that.

So that’s the show.
