Nnamdi Asomugha, up and vanished like a fart in the wind

I think we will all remember where we were when we heard Nnamdi Asomugha of the Oakland Raiders/Philadelphia Eagles/not really a member of, but cashed check from, San Francisco 49ers retired.     I was out of town, and about to fall asleep on my wife while she watched, New Girl. When I got a text from my friend, who’s a diehard Oakland Raiders fan. Let’s call him Darryl Lenox. The text read, “Nhamdi missed out on the HOF by leaving Oakland.” Now it’s obvious that he a true delusional Oakland Raiders fan, because not only does he think he would be in the Hall of Fame, but he didn’t even have the decency to spell his name right. However, that text is a perfect manifesto for Nnamdi Aomugha’s career. He was a guy that was sold as the greatest defensive back in the league while in Oakland, but at the end of the day he wasn’t even good enough for us to remember how to spell his name.

So thank you Nhamdi. Oakland still believes in you.
